Young Guns reserves $2.7M in airtime

Young Guns Network, a national Republican group with ties to House Majority Leader Eric Cantor (R-Va.), has reserved $2.7 million in airtime in seven competitive House districts.

According to information shared first with The Hill, the nonprofit reserved time to defend two incumbents and to go on offense in five other districts.

{mosads}Incumbent Reps. David Valadao (R-Calif.) and Mike Coffman (R-Colo.), two top Democratic targets, are both getting support from the group.

The group is also reserving airtime in Massachusetts’s 6th District, where Richard Tisei (R) is looking for a rematch with Rep. John Tierney (D); in West Virginia’s 3rd District, vulnerable Democratic Rep. Nick Rahall is facing state Sen. Evan Jenkins (R); three Republicans are vying for a shot at vulnerable Democratic Rep. Ann Kirkpatrick in Arizona’s 1st District; in Arizona’s 2nd District, Republican Martha McSally has launched a rematch against Rep. Ron Barber (D); and in Arizona’s 9th District, two Republicans are looking to take on Rep. Kyrsten Sinema (D). 

“YG Network will continue to aggressively support smart, next-generation conservative leaders in key House races this fall,” the group’s communications director, Chris Bond, said.

He added: “Wherever we have the opportunity to support forward-looking conservatives who are ready to tackle the tough challenges facing middle-class Americans, YG Network is going to do so. And we’re going to keep turning up the heat on Obama-Pelosi liberals whose job-killing policies are the number-one obstacle to middle-class families struggling to get back on track right now.”
