Poll: Trump leads NH; Rubio in second
Republican presidential candidate Marco Rubio has gained more than five points in a week in New Hampshire polling, according to a new survey, though Donald Trump still holds a strong lead.
{mosads}With four days left before the Granite State primary, an NBC/Wall Street Journal/Marist poll released Friday shows Trump leading the GOP pack, with 30 percent support, followed by Rubio, at 17. In the same survey a week earlier, Trump sat at 31 percent and Rubio 11.
Also gaining ground in poll: Ted Cruz, up from 12 percent to 15, and Jeb Bush, up a point to 9 percent.
John Kasich (10 percent) comes in fourth in the survey behind Trump, Rubio and Cruz.
The GOP field is set for a Saturday evening debate ahead of Tuesday’s primary vote.
The NBC News poll is at least the third this week to show Rubio rising to second place behind Trump after his strong third-place finish in the Iowa caucuses. It was conducted Tuesday and Wednesday among 638 likely Republican primary voters and has a margin of error of plus or minus 3.8 points.
