Haley to support Cruz
South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley will support Ted Cruz following Marco Rubio’s departure from the 2016 presidential race, she told reporters Wednesday.
Haley endorsed Rubio last month, but after a poor showing in his home state’s primary Tuesday evening, the Florida senator suspended his campaign.

Haley was one of Rubio’s staunchest supporters and his rumored vice presidential pick.
She accompanied him on the campaign trail and recorded ads praising him, saying he’d keep America safe and rein in government.
Haley came into the national spotlight after giving the Republican rebuttal to President Obama’s State of the Union address in January. A day later, she said Rubio “believes in amnesty” for illegal immigrants, a statement she later walked back.
