Maryland governor heads to Iowa
Maryland Gov. Martin O’Malley (D) is heading to Iowa, the latest sign he’s keeping his options open on a 2016 White House run.
{mosads}O’Malley will attend a “Hall of Fame” celebration of retiring Sen. Tom Harkin (D-Iowa) on June 20, key-note the state party’s convention the next day and stump for gubernatorial candidate Jack Hatch (D), according to the Des Moines Register.
Most strategists believe O’Malley won’t run if former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton does.
But if she decides against a bid he’s been doing everything he can to raise his profile in the early-voting states — he’s already been up to New Hampshire.
