Bill Clinton to hit New Hampshire for Hillary’s campaign
President Bill Clinton will hit the campaign trail for his wife’s presidential bid soon after the new year, Hillary Clinton’s campaign announced Monday.
“President Clinton knows that the stakes are higher than ever this election year,” the Clinton campaign said in a release announcing two events in New Hampshire.
{mosads}”He knows the people of New Hampshire want a president who will create shared prosperity, so that everyone has a chance at a brighter future. And, he knows Hillary Clinton is prepared to do that job.”
GOP presidential front-runner Donald Trump this week brought up the public sex scandals surrounding Bill Clinton in the 1980s and 90s as a new weapon against Hillary Clinton.
“If Hillary thinks she can unleash her husband, with his terrible record of women abuse, while playing the women’s card on me, she’s wrong!” Trump tweeted Monday morning.
The Clinton campaign has criticized Trump’s rhetoric repeatedly as both candidates increasingly train their fire on one another.
Bill Clinton has rarely been seen on the campaign trail so far, though aides have indicated he will be involved more. He’s seen as a politician who excels at the retail politics that dominate the scene in states such as New Hampshire with early primary contests.
