Bill Clinton to campaign in Iowa for Hillary

Former President Bill Clinton is heading to Iowa to stump for his wife Hillary Clinton.

Bill Clinton is scheduled to visit Cedar Rapids and Dubuque on Thursday, according to CBS News.

{mosads}“On his first Iowa swing of the new year, President Clinton will discuss why Hillary Clinton is the Democrat who has what it takes to get the job done and make a real difference for Iowa families by making our economy work for everyone and keeping our families safe,” Hillary Clinton’s campaign said in a statement.

Bill Clinton hit the trail for his wife on Monday, making his first solo campaign appearance of 2016 in Nashua, N.H.

The 42nd president notably avoided discussing Donald Trump, despite the GOP presidential front-runner’s attacks on him

Asked to respond to Trump, Clinton said: “How I feel is only relevant once they pick a nominee.”

“We’re trying to win a primary,” he added. “We’re trying to do that first.”

Clinton previously stumped for his wife in Iowa last October, appearing at a rally that also featured pop singer Katy Perry.

Hillary Clinton has a clear lead over the Democratic field in latest RealClearPolitics average of polls.

Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) lags behind the former first lady by 21 points nationwide but leads her by 4 percent in New Hampshire.
