Trump hints at replacing Yellen if president
Republican presidential front-runner Donald Trump is hinting at replacing Federal Reserve Chairwoman Janet Yellen if elected president, saying he likes the lower interest rates but that more could be done.
“I think she’s done a serviceable job,” Trump told Fortune magazine. “I don’t want to comment on re-appointment, but I would be more inclined to put other people in.”
{mosads}He added that he approves of some of the policy advanced during Yellen’s tenure, including lower interest rates, but said that “there are lots of good things that could be done that aren’t being done, amazingly.”
Yellen has been chair of the Fed since 2014.
