Pro-Trump super-PAC ad likens Bill Clinton to Bill Cosby

A super-PAC supporting Donald Trump’s White House bid released an ad on Thursday likening former President Bill Clinton to comedian Bill Cosby, who has been charged with sexual assault.

{mosads}The ad from Rebuilding America Now accuses Trump’s likely general election rival, Hillary Clinton, of being a hypocrite for claiming to support victims of sexual assault while standing by her husband, who has in the past been accused of sexual assault but never charged with any crimes.

“Who is all for women until she isn’t? Hillary Clinton,” the female narrator in the ad states. “When Bill Cosby was accused of sexual assault, Mrs. Clinton tweeted ‘Every survivor of sexual assault deserves to be believed and supported.’ ”

“But when another Bill was accused of sexual assault, not so much,” the ad continues. “She called those women ‘loony-toon’ and stage-managed their destruction from a White House war room. She savaged their dignity and shamed them.”

It’s the latest example of Trump and his allies seeking to use allegations of sexual misconduct against Bill Clinton to attack Hillary Clinton.

Trump has released a video that uses of audio of women who have accused Bill Clinton of sexual assault to similarly frame Hillary Clinton as a hypocrite on women’s issues.

The first ad from Rebuilding America Now, which claims to have $32 million in commitments from donors, raised the Monica Lewinsky scandal.

An email to the political action committee’s advisers about how much money is behind the ad and where it might run has not been returned.
