Hillary Clinton leads her likely November general election opponent, Donald Trump, by 5 points in a national poll that shows the presidential race unchanged since June.
{mosads}Clinton has the support of 46 percent of voters in an NBC News/Wall Street Journal poll released Sunday morning, compared to 41 percent for Trump.
Clinton, the presumptive Democratic nominee, leads among African-Americans, women and young voters, while Trump, the presumptive GOP nominee, has an advantage with whites and men. Pollsters also found both candidates have 36 percent support among independents.
In a four-way race, Clinton takes 41 percent, Trump has 35 percent, Libertarian Party presidential nominee Gary Johnson has 11 percent and Green Party candidate Jill Stein has 6 percent.
Only 27 percent of voters view Trump positively, compared with 34 percent who view Clinton in a favorable light.
The new poll, conducted July 9–13, has a margin of error of 3.1 percentage points.
Clinton’s lead narrowed to 4 points, 47 to 43 percent, in an ABC News/Washington poll also released Sunday morning. The former secretary of State held a 12-point lead in that poll in June.
