CNN anchor Chris Cuomo accused GOP presidential nominee Donald Trump’s campaign manager of lying about Melania Trump’s convention speech in a heated exchange on Wednesday.
Paul Manafort called on Cuomo to “move on” as he continued to deny accusations that Trump’s speech Monday night copied portions of Michelle Obama’s speech at the 2008 Democratic National Convention.
{mosads}“But I can’t move on, because you keep lying about it so I can’t move on from it,” Cuomo responded. “Because I have to talk about what is true.”
“I’m not lying about anything, Chris,” Manafort said.
Cuomo pressed him again for an answer on whether the campaign lifted parts of the first lady’s 2008 speech.
“As far as we’re concerned, there are similar words that were used, we’ve said that, but the feelings of those words and the commonality of those words do not create a situation which we feel we have to agree with you,” Manafort said.
