Rasmussen poll: Clinton leads Trump by 1 point
Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton leads Republican nominee Donald Trump by 1 point in a new Rasmussen Reports poll.
{mosads}The poll finds that Clinton has 43 percent support compared to Trump’s 42 percent among likely voters polled by the conservative-leaning Rasmussen. Another 10 percent of respondents like another candidate, and 4 percent are undecided.
In last week’s poll, Trump led Clinton by 1 point, 43 to 42 percent.
This week’s poll is the first time Clinton has overtaken Trump in the Rasmussen Reports polls in a month.
According to the new poll, 86 percent of Republican voters back Trump, and 79 percent of Democratic voters back Clinton. Clinton leads by 5 points among voters not affiliated with either major party.
Trump leads Clinton by 4 points among men, and Clinton leads Trump by 5 points among women.
The Democratic presidential nominee also leads among voters under 40 and blacks. Trump leads among whites and other minority voters.
The survey of 1,000 likely voters was conducted from July 26 to 27. The margin of error is 3 percentage points.
In the RealClearPolitics average of polls, Trump has a 0.9-point lead over Clinton and many recent polls have shown the GOP nominee with a boost in the polls following last week’s Republican National Convention.
