Pennsylvania poll: Clinton up by 9 points

Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton leads Republican nominee Donald Trump by 9 points in Pennsylvania, according to a new Suffolk University poll.

{mosads}In a head-to-head matchup, Clinton has 50 percent support and Trump has 41 percent support among likely general-election voters in the battleground state. Another 8 percent are undecided.

In a four-way matchup, including Libertarian nominee Gary Johnson and Green Party candidate Jill Stein, Clinton still holds a 9-point lead over Trump, 46 to 37 percent. Johnson takes 5 percent and Stein takes 3 percent. Another 9 percent are undecided.

In the four-way matchup, Clinton led by 19 points among women, 50 to 31 percent, and Trump leads by 3 points among men, 44 to 41 percent.

Clinton is viewed favorably by 44 percent of respondents and unfavorably by 48 percent. Trump is viewed favorably by only 33 percent of respondents and unfavorably by 57 percent.

The poll also found that 56 percent of Pennsylvanians said they feel less safe in the country than they did five to 10 years ago, and only 13 percent said they feel safer.

Respondents said the No. 1 issue facing the next president is terrorism and national security, followed by jobs/economy and nominating Supreme Court justices, according to the poll.

The Pennsylvania poll of 500 likely voters was conducted from July 25 to 27. The margin of error is 4.4 percentage points.

According to the RealClearPolitics average of polls in Pennsylvania, Clinton leads Trump by 4.4 points in Pennsylvania, 46.4 to 42 percent. In a four-way race, Clinton leads by 3 points.
