Giuliani: Russia has Clinton’s emails
Rudy Giuliani claims Russia possesses deleted emails from Hillary Clinton’s private server.
“The Russians have those emails,” he said Thursday on “The Mike Gallagher Show.” “They’ve had them for some time.”
{mosads}Giuliani based his statement on the recent hack of the Democratic National Committee (DNC).
“If they could get into the DNC server and be in there for one year, which they were, the DNC server is a more modern server,” he said, referencing last week’s massive leak of nearly 20,000 DNC officials’ emails by WikiLeaks.
“[It’s] much better protected than the old equipment that Hillary had hanging around her garage at home. If they can get into that DNC server, they owned her server in Poughkeepsie.”
The former Republican mayor of New York City also said GOP presidential nominee Donald Trump does not seriously want Russian hackers to gain access to Clinton’s messages.
“That statement was sarcastic,” he said. “It was a joke. It was, ‘Hey, go get them if you can get them. If you get it, turn it over to the FBI.’ Which is what should be done.”
Trump on Wednesday said he hopes Russian hackers will find messages erased from Clinton’s personal server from her time as secretary of State.
“Russia, if you are listening, I hope you are able to find the 30,000 emails that are missing,” he said during a press conference at his Miami-area hotel. “I think you will probably be rewarded mightily by the press.”
Clinton last year gave the State Department about 30,000 work-related emails from her tenure as secretary there.
Clinton, who is now the Democratic presidential nominee, added that roughly 30,000 more personal emails were deleted because they were personal.
