GOP leaders courting Gov. Heineman to run against Nelson
{mosads}Conflicting polling in the race has made it difficult to lock down just how the electorate feels about another Nelson term.
A Republican firm last week released a poll showing Nelson down by six points against the current GOP front-runner, Nebraska Attorney General Jon Bruning. But an internal poll from Nelson’s campaign the same week showed him two points ahead of Bruning — and with even greater margins over Don Stenberg and Deb Fischer, the other Republicans in the race.
