Bush to visit South Carolina
Former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush (R) is heading to South Carolina next month to headline a fundraiser for the state’s Gov. Nikki Haley (R), according to CNN.
Bush’s stop on Oct. 23 would be his first trip to an early primary state this year — South Carolina holds the first presidential primary in the south.
Bush hosted a fundraiser for Haley in his home state earlier this year.
The former governor is considering a bid for the GOP nomination and has said he is deferring the decision until sometime later this year.
{mosads}Though he has not yet visited early nominating states like Iowa and New Hampshire this cycle, he has raised money for Iowa Gov. Terry Branstad and New Hampshire Senate candidate Scott Brown.
A number of other potential candidates have been making swings through the state lately.
New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie (R) visited South Carolina earlier this month to help raise money, and Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) was also there last week.
Sen. Marco Rubio (R-Fla.) visited the state last month, and Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.) is scheduled to return later this month.
