RNC video mimics DirecTV commercials: ‘Get rid of ObamaCare’
The Republican National Committee has a new video putting a spin on a DirecTV commercial to argue against ObamaCare.
{mosads}The video takes the form of the ads, which show a series of disastrous events that occur when someone has cable TV instead of DirecTV. Instead of “get rid of cable,” however, the message is “get rid of ObamaCare.”
The ad begins with a young man sitting on a couch and a narrator who says “When you don’t vote, you feel left out.”
The next step is that he therefore needs “human interaction,” so he dresses up like a dinosaur and gives out hugs.
“When you dress up like a dinosaur and give out hugs, a nervous mother hits you with her purse.”
The man then needs medical attention after this confrontation, but “when you need medical attention, you wish you had your healthcare plan that was canceled by ObamaCare.”
“Vote Republican this fall, and get rid of ObamaCare,” the ad ends.
The video appears to be an effort to appeal to young male voters, like the man featured in the ad. The DirecTV commercials the ad echoes often air during sporting events.
