Report: NYPD says it has a credible rape allegation against Weinstein, could arrest him
The New York City Police Department now has a credible rape allegation against Hollywood filmmaker Harvey Weinstein, who may soon be arrested, The Associated Press reported Friday.
Investigators have reportedly corroborated parts of actress Paz de la Huerta’s claims that Weinstein twice raped her in her apartment in 2010, and are continuing to gather evidence to seek an arrest warrant.
The actress’s claims could mark the first officially corroborated account of Weinstein’s misconduct after a string of accusations of sexual assault from women across the entertainment industry.

The department announced Thursday that it had opened a third investigation into Weinstein regarding claims of sexual assault, after the “Boardwalk Empire” actress came forward 10 days prior.
A senior sex crimes investigator assigned by the Manhattan district attorney is now working with the NYPD on the case.
Scores of women have in recent weeks accused the Oscar-winning producer of sexual harassment or assault, including actresses Heather Graham, Eva Green, Rose McGowan and Ashley Judd.
