Students across the country walked out of their schools on Wednesday to mark one month since the mass shooting at a Florida high school that left 17 dead and 14 others injured.
{mosads}Many participated in protests and marches, while others held a 17 minute moment of silence. Some schools placed empty desks outside to commemorate victims of mass school shootings.
“Enough is enough” and “Never again” have been some of the rallying cries of students pushing for gun control after the Florida shooting.
Survivors of the Florida shooting organized the national walkout and have also planned a march in Washington, D.C., and other cities for later this month.
Participants in the movement are calling on lawmakers to cut ties with the National Rifle Association and act on gun control and school safety legislation.
