Trump: Clinton’s Benghazi testimony sounded ‘terrible’
GOP presidential candidate Donald Trump late Thursday panned the first few minutes of his Democratic rival Hillary Clinton’s marathon congressional testimony on Benghazi.
“I watched maybe five or six minutes, maybe 10 minutes, her opening remarks, and the way she was reading them, it sounded terrible,” Trump told conservative radio host Hugh Hewitt.
{mosads}”The whole thing sounded terrible,” Trump said.
Clinton appeared on Capitol Hill before the House Select Committee on Benghazi. She began her testimony at 10 a.m. and the hearing, though it had breaks, didn’t end until 9 p.m.
The former secretary of State spoke slowly during her 16-minute opening statement before the committee investigating the 2012 attack on a U.S. diplomatic facility in Benghazi, Libya.
The hearing touched on Clinton’s use of a private email server as secretary of State, something Republicans have knocked her on amid a federal probe into her server.
“Honestly, my emails are so boring, I would release them tomorrow,” Trump told Hewitt.
