President Trump doubled down on his attack against the mayor of London on Monday, saying Sadiq Khan had to “think fast” to come up with an excuse for his comments after the terror attack in the city this past weekend.
Trump first hit the mayor in a tweet Sunday in the aftermath of the attack that left at least seven dead and nearly 50 wounded.

{mosads}”At least 7 dead and 48 wounded in terror attack and Mayor of London says there is ‘no reason to be alarmed!’ ” Trump tweeted.

Khan told London residents not to be alarmed by an increased police presence in the city after the attack.

Khan’s spokesman responded to the tweet, saying that Khan “had more important things to do” than directly reply to Trump’s criticism.

In contrast, Lewis Lukens, the acting U.S. ambassador to the United Kingdom, praised Khan after the attack, saying the city’s response “has been extraordinary.”

Trump used the strike, which was claimed by the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria, to call for U.S. courts to reinstate his temporary travel ban on six predominantly Muslim nations “as an extra layer of safety.”
