Christie’s brother to New Jersey governor’s critics: Get a life

New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie’s (R) brother, Todd, is defending him from criticism for attending a Dallas Cowboys playoff game Sunday night.

“To all of those non Cowboy fans who have their panties in a ringer because the Governor of NJ is a Cowboys fan—GET A LIFE,” Todd Christie wrote on Facebook.

On Sunday’s broadcast of the match-up between the Cowboys and the Detroit Lions, Christie was shown awkwardly embracing Cowboys owner Jerry Jones after the team won. The moment was widely mocked on social media.

Todd Christie also criticized individuals who mocked the governor’s weight.

“And for every calorically challenged FB person who posts about the Gov’s weight–forget the magic mirror and look at yourself,” he wrote. “Weight posts—really?”

Two NFL teams, the New York Giants and Jets, play in New Jersey. There are also many Philadelphia Eagles fans in southern New Jersey.

“I’m a Giants fan—we are sitting home for the fourth straight year,” Todd Christie wrote.

“Eagles fans—possibly you should worry more about the fact that your sorry ass team has never won a Super Bowl and less about who’s rooting for which team. I mean crazy pathetic posts,” he wrote.

Todd Christie said that his brother has been a Cowboys fan for his whole life.

Christie has been under particular scrutiny, as he decides whether to run for president in 2016. Jones is a Republican who donated to the failed White House bids of Mitt Romney and Rick Perry in the last election cycle.
