London mayor accuses opponents of using ‘Donald Trump playbook’
London’s newly elected mayor — the city’s first Muslim mayor — accused his rivals of taking a page from presumptive Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump’s playbook in their campaigns against him.
{mosads}“They used fear and innuendo to try to turn different ethnic and religious groups against each other – something straight out of the Donald Trump playbook,” Sadiq Khan wrote in the Observer. “Londoners deserved better and I hope it’s something the Conservative party will never try to repeat.”
Throughout the mayoral race, Khan’s Conservative opponents tried to paint him as a radical with ties to extremists.
