Trump: ‘I will send in the Feds’ if Chicago doesn’t fix violence

President Trump on Tuesday said he will “send in the Feds” if Chicago does not address its crime problem.

Trump made the comment on Twitter while sharing some statistics about the ongoing “carnage” in the city.

{mosads}”If Chicago doesn’t fix the horrible ‘carnage’ going on, 228 shootings in 2017 with 42 killings (up 24% from 2016), I will send in the Feds!” Trump tweeted.

The Chicago Tribune reported the numbers in a Monday story.

Earlier in January Trump also commented on the city’s crime problem, urging the mayor Mayor Rahm Emanuel (D) to ask for federal help if he is not capable of handling the crisis.

“Chicago murder rate is record setting — 4,331 shooting victims with 762 murders in 2016. If Mayor can’t do it he must ask for Federal help!” Trump tweeted.

Throughout his campaign, Trump promised to bring “law and order” to the country’s inner cities.
