Afghan intel chief wounded in bomb blast

Afghan officials told the Post that Khalid was rushed to the
hospital with multiple injuries to his lower body, although there were
conflicting reports how serious the injuries were.

{mosads}Afghan President Hamid Karzai visited Khalid Thursday and
told reporters: “Thank God his condition is good. He is being operated on, and
we now have lots of hope that he will recover,” according to the Post.

Khalid has been at the helm of the intelligence service
since September, and he’s known as an opponent of the Taliban.

He survived an assassination attempt in Kandahar in 2011, as well as a roadside bombing while
governor of Kandahar in 2008, according to the BBC.
