Chelsea Clinton pens children’s book

Chelsea Clinton is about to become a first-time author … but don’t expect a tell-all memoir to hit store shelves anytime soon.

The daughter of Bill and Hillary Clinton has penned a book aimed at 10- to 14-year-olds called It’s Your World: Get Informed, Get Inspired & Get Going.

{mosads}The book “breaks down issues like poverty, homelessness and climate change, and shares stories of kids and teens who are making an impact in their own communities and around the world,” according to People magazine, which was first to report the news.

But the glossy mag says Clinton has “no plans” to dive into autobiography. “I want to do my part to make a difference — and that’s why I wrote this book,” Clinton, 35, writes in a letter to a reader.

The children’s book is due out Sep. 15, almost exactly a year after Clinton gave birth to daughter Charlotte, her first child with husband Marc Mezvinsky. The former first daughter tells People the 7-month-old is a “great napper,” which gave her time to work on the book.

A book tour of elementary and middle schools is planned, and all proceeds from Clinton’s book will reportedly be donated to several charities.
