Antonio Sabato Jr. gunning for spot in Trump White House
Actor and model Antonio Sabato, Jr. is gunning for a spot in President-elect Donald Trump’s administration, ideally something combining education and physical fitness.
{mosads}“I would love to work with fitness, with that department, like what Arnold Schwarzenegger was doing for the country many years ago,” Sabato Jr. told Variety in a Tuesday interview.
Schwarzenegger famously served as the chairman of the President’s Council on Physical Fitness and Sports under former President George H.W. Bush for three years, starting in 1990.
Sabato Jr., 44, is an Italian-born former Calvin Klein model and soap opera star who was an early supporter of Trump’s White House bid. He spoke at the Republican National Convention in July.
“They don’t approach P.E. in schools like they need to,” Sabato Jr. told Variety. “I think it’s important to talk about fitness and bring more fitness to schools across the country.”
While Sabato Jr. says he hasn’t spoken to Trump about such a gig, he expects he’ll soon head to the White House once the former GOP presidential nominee takes office.
Said Sabato, “I would personally do anything for the guy or his family.”
