President Obama and Hillary Clinton mingled at a party Wednesday night in Martha’s Vineyard, Mass., their first encounter since a public tiff on foreign policy flared up in recent days.

The two attended the 80th birthday celebration for Ann Jordan — wife of longtime Clinton confidante Vernon Jordan — with their spouses, first lady Michelle Obama and former President Bill Clinton.

Though closed to press, the face-to-face between Obama and Clinton comes after the Democratic favorite for the 2016 presidential nomination criticized the president’s foreign policy in an interview with The Atlantic published last weekend.

“We have disagreements as any partners and friends, as we are, might very well have,” Clinton told reporters on Wednesday. ”But I’m proud that I served with him and for him, and I’m looking forward to seeing him tonight.”

Approximately 150 guests were in attendance Wednesday evening, including White House senior adviser Valerie Jarrett and her mother Barbara Bowman, Xerox CEO Ursula Burns, American Express CEO Kenneth Chenault and his wife Kathy. The menu consisted of surf and turf and pasta, according to a White House pool report.

In a toast to the Jordans before dinner, Obama quipped that he met Vernon first, but liked Ann more, according to the pool report.
