Iraqi prime minister jokes with Trump about wiretaps
Iraqi Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi on Monday joked with President Trump about his explosive wiretapping allegation during their first-ever White House meeting.
After reporters shouted questions about wiretaps, Abadi grabbed Trump’s arm and said, “We had nothing to do with the wiretap.”
Trump did not respond to Abadi, nor did he answer the journalists’ questions.
{mosads}The comment came after FBI Director James Comey testified before Congress that he has seen no evidence to back up Trump’s claim that former President Obama had the billionaire’s Manhattan high-rise tapped during the 2016 presidential campaign.
The White House has refused to back off the claim despite Comey’s statement.
