Trump disputes report that he calls Sessions ‘Mr. Magoo’
President Trump disputed a February report by The Washington Post that he calls Attorney General Jeff Sessions “Mr. Magoo,” saying that he doesn’t know of the character.
“The Washington Post said I refer to Jeff Sessions as ‘Mr. Magoo’ and Rod Rosenstein as ‘Mr. Peepers,’ ” Trump tweeted Saturday.
“This is ‘according to people with whom the president has spoken.’ There are no such people and don’t know these characters…just more Fake & Disgusting News to create ill will!” he continued.

The Post reported that Trump calls Sessions by the name of the decades-old cartoon character, a bumbling elderly man who ends up in comic situations largely because of his severe nearsightedness.

The newspaper has also reported that Trump called Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein “Mr. Peepers,” the title character of a 1950s sitcom about a meek school teacher who often ends up in embarrassing situations.
Trump has often attacked the Post as “fake news,” along with other major newspapers like The New York Times.
The denial comes amid reports that Trump is considering firing Rosenstein after the FBI raid on the office of Trump’s personal attorney Michael Cohen.
Rosenstein personally signed off on the raid. He appointed special counsel Robert Mueller last year and has oversight over the probe after Sessions recused himself from the investigation.
