Trump prosecutor Fani Willis wins Democratic primary in Fulton County DA race 

Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis, who’s probing former President Trump and his allies’ efforts to overturn the Georgia 2020 election results, has won her Democratic primary, according to Decision Desk HQ. 

Willis faced a challenge from Democrat Christian Wise Smith, a former prosecutor in the Fulton County district attorney’s office. Willis also beat him when she ran for her position the first time in 2020. 

Willis is expected to take on Republican Courtney Kramer, a former legal intern in the Trump administration and former litigation consultant to the Trump campaign after the 2020 election.  

Given Fulton County’s heavily Democratic leanings, Willis is considered the heavy favorite in November.
