‘Amnesty Don’ goes viral after Breitbart slams reported Trump deal with Democrats
The hashtag “AmnestyDon” was a top trending topic on Twitter in Washington, D.C., Wednesday following reports of President Trump’s agreement to work with Democratic leaders to give amnesty to nearly 800,000 immigrants who came to the country illegally as children.
“Amnesty Don” is the headline of a Breitbart News story slamming the president for working with Democrats on the deal.
“In a meeting with establishment politicians from the Problem Solvers Caucus and the Blue Dog Coalition, President Trump signaled a full-fledged cave on the issue of giving amnesty to nearly 800,000 illegal aliens currently protected by an Obama-created executive immigration program,” said the top paragraph of the Breitbart report Wednesday night.
Former White House chief strategist Stephen Bannon left the White House in August to return as executive chairman of Breitbart News, which staunchly backed Trump during the 2016 campaign.
{mosads}On Wednesday night, Trump and Democratic leaders agreed to work toward a deal that would protect young undocumented immigrants from deportation in exchange for new border security measures, according to the lawmakers who attended a dinner at the White House, including Senate Minority Leader Charles Schumer (D-N.Y.) and House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.).
Trump maintained in a series of tweets Thursday morning that DACA was not part of the agreement but asked “if anybody really [wanted] to throw out good, educated and accomplished young people who have jobs, some serving in the military?”
No deal was made last night on DACA. Massive border security would have to be agreed to in exchange for consent. Would be subject to vote.

Does anybody really want to throw out good, educated and accomplished young people who have jobs, some serving in the military? Really!…..

In an interview with “60 Minutes” on Sunday, Bannon said Trump changing his campaign position on immigration could cost Republicans the House in 2018.
“I’m worried about losing the House now because of DACA,” said Bannon to Charlie Rose.
“And my fear is that with this six months down range, if this goes all the way down to its logical conclusion, in February and March it will be a civil war inside the Republican Party that will be every bit as vitriolic as 2013. And to me, doing that in the springboard of primary season for 2018 is extremely unwise,” he concluded.
The label “Amnesty Don” was previously used by MSNBC’s Joe Scarborough. The “Morning Joe” co-host gave Trump the title last year after Trump appeared to shift on the issue of immigration.
