NYPD deploys officers to newsrooms throughout city after Annapolis shooting
“We amp up security in these kinds of incidents,” an NYPD spokesperson told The Hill in confirming the decision to deploy units to various news organizations following the shooting at the Capital Gazette newspaper in Annapolis, Md.

The Baltimore Sun owns the Capital Gazette. The Sun reported police were also present at their offices in downtown Baltimore and conducted a precautionary sweep of the facility. An all-clear order was eventually provided.
