Bob Woodward to detail ‘harrowing life’ inside Trump White House in new book

Veteran journalist Bob Woodward is working on a book that will detail the inner workings of the Trump White House set for release before November’s midterm elections.

The book, “Fear: Trump in the White House,” is set to be released on Sept. 11, according to the book’s Amazon preorder page.

The book “reveals in unprecedented detail the harrowing life inside President Donald Trump’s White House and precisely how he makes decisions on major foreign and domestic policies,” according to Amazon.

Woodward’s account is based on “hundreds of hours of interviews with firsthand sources, meeting notes, personal diaries, files and documents.”

The book’s release date comes less than two months before Election Day.

CNN reported that Woodward, who is renowned for his work on the Watergate investigation, has been working on the project for the last eight months. The work is based primarily on firsthand sources.

Woodward has written more than a dozen books on the previous two presidential administrations.

Woodward’s will not be the first book to offer an inside look at the Trump White House. Author Michael Wolff notably documented behind-the-scenes interactions in his book “Fire and Fury.”

The book drew the ire of Trump, who tweeted angrily about it ahead of its release.

While a number of that book’s claims were challenged or fell apart under scrutiny, it did lead to a fallout between Trump and former chief strategist Stephen Bannon.

Bannon was quoted extensively in Trump’s book speaking critically of the president and his family.

Former White House aide Omarosa Manigault-Newman also has a forthcoming book recounting her time in the White House.

Former Trump press secretary Sean Spicer released a book earlier this month recounting his time in the White House. The book gives largely glowing reviews to the president, whom Spicer praises as a “rock star.”

During a publicity tour to promote the book, Spicer, who was widely mocked for his time behind the White House lectern, has expressed regret over his handling of certain interactions with the press during his tenure, but stood by Trump and his policies.
