Dem senator: Not funny that Spicer ‘lied aggressively and frequently’
Sen. Brian Schatz (D-Hawaii) ripped Sean Spicer after the former White House press secretary made a surprise appearance at the Emmy Awards late Sunday.
“It is not funny that the spokesperson for the President lied aggressively and frequently, and he should not be treated like a celebrity,” Schatz tweeted.

{mosads}Spicer used a rolling podium to make his way on stage at the beginning of the Emmy Awards ceremony.
His appearance came as host Stephen Colbert was talking about the audience size at the event, a topic that Spicer discussed.
“This will be the largest audience to witness an Emmy’s, period, both in person and around the world,” Spicer said, mocking the words he used to describe the crowd at President Trump’s inauguration earlier this year.
Spicer resigned after Trump announced that Anthony Scaramucci would take over as communications director. Scaramucci lasted just 10 days in that position.
Spicer formally left the White House last month, calling his service there “the honor of a lifetime.”
The awards ceremony included several stars taking jabs at Trump.
