Ex-Fox News host secretly recorded Ailes: report
Former Fox News host Gretchen Carlson secretly recorded inappropriate statements made by former Fox News Chairman and CEO Roger Ailes, New York Magazine reported Friday.
Carlson recorded conversations with Ailes for at least a year and captured “numerous incidents” of harassment on her phone, the report said.
{mosads}”I think you and I should have had a sexual relationship a long time ago, and then you’d be good and better and I’d be good and better,” one recording of Ailes speaking to Carlson reportedly says.
“Sometimes problems are easier to solve that way,” Ailes, 76, allegedly also told Carlson, 50, at another point.
A source in the report says the recorded meetings with Ailes occurred between 2014 and 2015.
Carlson filed a lawsuit against Ailes in July. He resigned amid an internal investigation 15 days later.
Ailes denied the allegations in Carlson’s suit, calling them “false” and “retaliatory” for not renewing Carlson’s contract in June.
