House Intel chairman to make radio debut

Retiring House Intelligence Chairman Mike Rogers (R-Mich.) will waste no time making his transition to radio. 

Rogers will begin his syndicated radio feature “Something to Think About” on Jan. 5, he announced on Thursday. 

{mosads}The House Intelligence Committee chairman and former FBI agent announced in March he would retire at the end of the year and take a job with Cumulus Radio. The segment will run three times a day. 

“From the highest level national security discussion to the most inspiring American success story, I have seen it,” Rogers said in a statement from the company. “I am excited to bring these stories to life.”

The company said the three “daily vignettes” are meant to be an introduction that will eventually lead to a broader platform on radio. Rogers became a regular on the Sunday morning television shows and cable news more broadly. 

He has previously described radio as a passion dating back to his college years at Adrian College in Michigan.

Mike is an exciting addition to our expanding national talk platform,” the company’s chief executive, Lew Dickey, said.
