Metro evacuates passengers from train stuck in tunnel
Passengers were evacuated from a Washington Metrorail train on Thursday that was stuck in a tunnel near the Rosslyn station for about an hour.
The Hill’s chief copy editor Jesse Helfrich was on the train and snapped these photos and videos:

After a 7000-series rail car apparently lost power and got stuck in the Rosslyn tunnel at around 2 p.m., a train conductor told passengers over the intercom that they were “in the process of trying to find a solution to move this train.”
Passengers were offloaded about an hour later. Metro said crews are now working to move the disabled train and warned that delays are likely to continue.
Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority officials testified to Congress on Wednesday about the need for additional funding in order to make capital improvements and address ongoing safety concerns.
