Obama accepts Shinseki resignation
Veterans Affairs Secretary Eric Shinseki has resigned.
{mosads}President Obama announced the resignation from the White House Briefing Room after a meeting with the embattled secretary. Obama praised Shinseki, saying he had accepted the resignation with considerable regret.
He said Shinseki had determined the VA needed new leadership.
