Holder: ‘You don’t want to go there’

Attorney General Eric Holder on Tuesday lashed out at Rep. Louie Gohmert (R-Texas) after Gohmert suggested Holder didn’t care about being held in contempt.

Gohmert renewed his request for documents involved in the Fast and Furious scandal that led to Holder being held in contempt in 2012. Holder took offense to the remark, and issued a stern warning to Gohmert.

“You don’t want to go there, buddy, alright? You don’t want to go there,” a fiery Holder said.

Gohmert fired back at the attorney general, asking why he shouldn’t have made the remark. 

{mosads}”You should not assume that is not a big deal to me,” Holder responded. “I think that was inappropriate and unjust, but don’t ever think that was not a big deal to me. Don’t ever think that.”

Gohmert defended himself by saying Holder has yet to hand over the desired documents.

“There have been no indication that this is a big deal,” Gohmert said.

While Holder said he was prepared to hand over the documents, the texas lawmaker cut his response short and said there is no time for lecturing.

“Sir, we’ve been trying to get to the bottom of Fast and Furious where at least a couple hundred Mexicans died… so I don’t need any lectures from you about contempt,” Gohmert sternly said.

Holder promptly responded and said he doesn’t need Gohmert’s lecturing either.
