Chad Prince
Chad Prince is one of a kind.
Born in Korea, adopted by Dutch parents in Michigan, educated at Seattle Pacific University and now working on Capitol Hill as a staff assistant for Rep. Suzan DelBene (D-Wash.), he says, “I’ve been abroad a few times, and I feel like I have a relatively unique perspective, sociologically speaking,” he told The Hill.
{mosads}His personal style, which he describes as “classic with a little personal touch” reflects keeping it simple with a bit of pizzazz.
Although he appears cool, calm and collected, Prince’s hobbies are anything but low-key. “On Lake Michigan, I did a lot of water sports — from wakeboarding to skiing to jet-skiing,” he said.
And when it comes to staying active, the House staffer is quick to adapt to his surroundings: “When I moved out to Seattle, I was close to mountains for the first time in my life. I ended up hiking quite a bit more, which is great.”
With his current digs near D.C.’s Rock Creek Park, he says he enjoys going on walks and runs around his home.
Prince doesn’t just exercise his limbs though, he also works his brain. The book lover usually prefers to read novels, and even has a few literary picks that he curls up to again and again. “I read Les Miserables every year and I read East of Eden every year. They both are great stories that I think touch on almost every aspect of human nature,” he said.
When it comes to his passion, however, Chad says he was set on politics from an early age.
“I became interested in politics when I was around eight or nine. My parents took me to Lansing, Michigan, and we toured the Capitol. I remember being struck by that,” he says.
At the end of the day, Chad says all he needs is a combo of great company and grub to keep the good times rolling, “If I could wake up every day and be able to hang out and talk to people I love and, you know, eat good food as well, I think I’d be happy.”
