Washington is Tony Williams’s home and will always be a part of him.

“I’ve really always lived in D.C.,” he said, even if he moved away for college and now travels up to Philadelphia two or three days a week to meet with the heads of Comcast, where he is a director of government affairs.

{mosads}To try and give back to the town that raised him, Williams launched an unsuccessful bid for D.C. Council in 2006. He says he’ll do it again, once the timing is right.

“Absolutely. There’s no doubt in my mind,” he told The Hill. “I have an extreme calling towards public service and I think D.C. should be the greatest city in the world. There’s no reason why it’s not.”

As a Republican in a largely Democratic town, though, that can be a tricky proposition.

“To be a Republican in D.C. is a dirty word,” said Williams.

Yet still, he is sure that his belief in smaller government and fiscal responsibility will eventually win people over.

“At some point that will come back,” he said.

Williams is the son of commentator and The Hill columnist Juan Williams, and he often tweets pictures hanging out with his family.
