While some might run from the “nerd” label, Carri Twigg wholeheartedly embraces it.

That passion translates into all facets of her life. Twigg moved to Washington four years ago with no job after working in Ohio politics. She climbed the ladder quickly, landing at the White House, where she works as a liaison to labor groups. 

Working at the world’s most powerful address doesn’t afford Twigg much spare time, but when she does get out, she likes to check out D.C.’s art scene.

“For work, I read and talk all day long,” she said. “So it’s nice to go and see something someone made with their hands and experience something different.”
