Pulling out six lipsticks from her clutch bag, Sophia Anwar proudly proclaims herself to be an “assertive girly girl” and boasts that she can do her makeup during her commute.

{mosads}The former White House intern now works as a legislative correspondent for Rep. Brenda Lawrence (D-Mich.) and loves being a part of the House freshman’s office.

“It’s a fun environment,” Anwar said.

Despite her lipstick hoarding tendencies, Anwar says she prefers comfort when it comes to her personal style.

“I want to be able to jump on a couch and take a nap in the clothes I’m wearing.”

Anwar does wear high heels, though she admits to occasionally slipping in the tunnels when running to votes.

“I feel like the Capitol Police know I’m going to do something embarrassing,” she said. But she doesn’t seem to mind.

“Just own all your embarrassing moments,” she said with a shrug. “I do.”
