Christopher ‘Gindy’ Gindlesperger

Christopher Gindlesperger — known as “Gindy” to his friends — has a pretty sweet job.

{mosads}The newly minted vice president of public affairs and communications for the National Confectioners Association spends most of his time talking about candy.

“The candy industry is so fun,” he said. “Everybody is just so happy.”

Although The Hill spotted a box of Goetze’s caramel creams on his desk, Gindlesperger says he only eats candy a few times a week and can’t narrow down a favorite.

Gindlesperger is passionate about style, accessorizing his outfits with tiny details such as vintage lapel pins, eyewear and sneakers from his collection of more than 50 pairs. But no socks?

“In the winter, I wear socks,” Gindlesperger said.

Being surrounded by candy has given Gindlesperger a sugar-coated outlook.

“Life is too short to be miserable and sad,” he said. “If you’re not in a job where you’re having fun … then what are you doing?”
