Rep. Tulsi Gabbard
There’s been one definite life change for Rep. Tulsi Gabbard since the Hawaii Democrat first appeared on The Hill’s 50 Most Beautiful list in 2013: She’s found her permanent surfing buddy.
{mosads}“The biggest news, I guess, personally, is I got married in April,” Gabbard says, calling husband Abraham her “best friend and surfing partner.”
Though she can’t catch any waves while she’s in Washington, Gabbard likes to hit the gym with a bipartisan group of colleagues: “If someone starts slacking off, or not showing up, or not giving their best, we challenge each other to really get a good workout.”
The lifelong vegetarian typically begins her day with a protein-packed smoothie, followed by a Longworth cafeteria salad. Sharing a home with her sister and brother-in-law — a “wonderful cook,” per Gabbard — also has its perks: “I am grateful to be able to usually come home to a home-cooked meal here.”
“I’m a lucky lady.”
