Eboni Malone

Holding down a job on Capitol Hill is hardly child’s play, but for Eboni Malone, working in Washington is all about the kids.

“I know my passion is helping children,” she says.

A former children’s mental health counselor, Malone now works as an executive assistant and scheduler for Rep. Brenda Lawrence (D-Mich.).

Malone says down the road her next mission is helping kids on a bigger scale: “Whether that’s having my own program doing advocacy one day, or taking all these skills that I’ve learned from these different jobs and advocating in some way — that I can’t foresee right now.”

Since she’s busy running toward her professional goals, Malone says she doesn’t have much time for actual running these days.

But the brunch lover will soon move into a new apartment building, complete with a gym.

And when moving day comes, it’ll be workout time: “Watch out, world.”
