Poll: Millennials down on Obama

{mosads}According to the poll, 46 percent of millennials approve of President Obama, which is down 9 points from February 2011, while 51 percent said they disapprove. The president’s approval rating has also declined among college students, down from 60 percent in February to 48 percent today.

In addition, 52 percent of millennials said the country was on the wrong track, up from 39 percent in February, while only 12 percent said the country was on the right track, down from 20 percent.

Only 32 percent approved of the president’s handling of the economy, down from 42 percent in February.

While millennials might currently lack the level of enthusiasm they had for the president in 2008, they still support him by a wide margin over the Republican candidates. Obama leads Mitt Romney 37 percent to 26 percent, and leads Newt Gingrich 39 percent to 23 percent.

Still, a plurality of millennials predicts Obama will lose the 2012 election. Thirty-six percent said they thought the president would not be reelected, while 30 percent said they thought he’d win the 2012 election.
