DCCC launches ‘GrimmFiles’ website

{mosads}The website’s release comes a day after The New York Times editorial page called for an investigation into Grimm by the Office of Congressional Ethics and the Department of Justice over a number of allegations, including that he accepted campaign contributions over the legal limit and was planning on helping a major fundraiser with applying for a green card.

The website offers links to recent reports in The New York Times and The New Yorker reporting on various dealings the New York lawmaker has had. One link, for example, is titled “Grimm’s sleazy business background” and links to a February report in The New York Times on Grimm’s real estate investments. Another, “Grimm Investigated for Night Club Incident,” links to a story in The New Yorker reporting that in 1999 Grimm waved a gun around in a nightclub.

Grimm, a former U.S. Marine and FBI agent, has maintained that the allegations are false.

“I have dedicated my entire life to honorably serving this country from the U.S. Marine Corps to the FBI and have conducted myself both as a candidate and a member of Congress by the same high standards,” Grimm said in a statement to The Hill, when the allegations first surfaced. “I will bring that same focus to continuing my work on behalf of my constituents while ensuring these allegations are shown to be the falsehoods they are.”
