Obama administration trying to curb distracted driving among public transit employees

Transportation Secretary Ray LaHood has made distracted driving a signature issue of his tenure in the Obama administration. LaHood often notes that the number of states that have distracted driving laws in place has increased from about eight when he first took office in 2009 to more than 30 now.

Rogoff said the public transportation industry “needs to continue building a culture of safety where unsafe acts are not permitted by management or by peers.”
