Rep. Mica fires back at Senate majority leader: ‘I have a life’

{mosads}Reid was referring to the Senate’s recent passage of a transportation bill and the stalemated House version, which has been languishing in Mica’s committee.

The House Rules Committee is scheduled to consider a sequel to the transportation bill, which includes language authorizing the controversial Keystone oil pipeline that was rejected earlier this year by President Obama.

But on Tuesday, Mica fired back at Reid, telling the Nevada lawmaker that he was “saddened” by his comments and that he, in fact, does have a life.

“When I announced I was going to do hearings on this, I was pretty saddened by comments of the majority leader of the U.S. Senate,” said Mica at Tuesday’s hearing on the GSA scandal.

“He said, ‘Mica needs to get a life.’ Well, I want to tell him and others that I have a life and that’s dedicated to uncovering waste and inefficiency in the federal government and bringing business-type common-sense practices, whether it’s GSA or other federal agencies.”
